Blizzard of Twenty Ten

So yesterday was a serious post and I did not mention my new layout!  I LOVE IT!!  Thank you so much, Becky!  You are awesome!  I just tell you what colors I want and you go from there!!  I am not exactly the most creative person in the world!!

Thank you so much for your sweet comments and prayers for Lt. Curlin.  He has another major surgery today and could use your prayers.  The doctors said that they will have at least 12-15 more surgeries within the next month!  They are keeping him heavily sedated!  I cannot imagine the toll his family is going through right now!

So the snow came through last night!  I am officially calling it the Blizzard of Twenty Ten!!  We literally just looked out the windows in disbelief of the snow coming down.  We cannot recall anything like this when we were stationed in Utah.  We heard stories, but never witnessed it in our 3 years there!  Anyways, here are some pictures.

So do you remember this picture?

Well David and I were watching the news, sipping on our coffee, and this picture popped up!
I submitted it on Monday.  We were so excited and the newscasters said the sweetest things
about Tyler and Landon playing in the snow.  I managed to catch it on the DVR!!  WOOHOO!

The photo of the year contest ended last night.  We didn't win, but that is ok.  I think I was beyond excited that our kids were on the news this morning! HA!!  I got an email from Rachael, the photographer, saying that it was a close race and we were in the top three as of yesterday morning.  I think that is PRETTY AWESOME!!  I am not a sore looser!  I was just honored that our picture was one of the photographer's favs of the year!  What an HONOR!!  I will be doing my drawing tonight!!  I know some of my blog readers voted, but didn't leave a comment. Go here and leave a comment so you are not left out of the drawing.  Thank you so much for voting!!!

And I just have to leave you with this picture!  I have had MAJOR cabin fever this week.  Earlier in the week we were stuck in the house due to the snow from Sunday.  Then we had subfreezing temps and I didn't want to get Landon out of the house.  I may be going crazy, but Landon has LOVED just hanging out at the house!  HHHMMM, maybe after the hustle and bustle of Christmas, he was thankful to just relax.

Ignore the quality!  I took it with my cell phone!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!  Tomorrow is David's 30th Birthday!  We are ready to celebrate his big day!!  And next week is back to school for me!!  I am kind of happy, but kind of sad.  I enjoyed the time with the kids.

  1. You missed the big snowstorm in Utah - it was the winter before you moved there - it was awful! It was so high the kids made snow tunnels!I like your new look - warm and earthy. I will keep Lt Curlin in my thoughts
