The Dress

I NEED HELP!!!  I have the dress and need the shoes!!  I actually bought the dress on our romantic anniversary weekend before David deployed.  I had no clue that it would be the same dress that I would wear to pick David up from the airport.  But it makes perfect sense.  He was with me when I bought it and purple is his favorite color on me.  The problem you ask, I cannot find shoes!  I can't decide if I want to wear boots or heels.  I hate SHOE shopping!!  I have wide feet and narrow ankles!!  Strappy shoes are a No No!!  I am asking you to help me find shoes!

Here is the front of the dress.
Here is the back of the dress.  I am not sure if you can tell, but it ties behind the neck and
has a hole right below the neck.
While writing this post, I got a phone call from my mother.  A good childhood friend of my brother's was killed in a work accident.  I do not know any details.  He was 22 years old.  My heart is so heavy for his family.

I also found out a few days ago that my sorority lil sis was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.  The tumor has shrunk and she is on her 2nd round of chemo.  She is 28 years old and has a new baby and a 2 (or 3) year old little boy.

It is so easy to whine and complain about how hard you have it when so may people are facing so much more in their lives.  The past 3 weeks, I have been taking a new approach to life.  I am not complaining about the small things in life.  So the Hogs played a horrible game and it is their 2nd loss of the season!  I just laugh it off.  Is it really impacting my life that much?  NO!  Do my neighbor's dog got in our yard and took care of business on my patio chair (oh and it has worms), so what, it will dry in a few days and I will dump it in their yard.  I kid, I kid, I will scoop it up with a shovel and throw it in the trash.

The truth is, I am eliminating Drama from my life!  Please do not be disappointed if I do not jump right in on that gossip session, the vent session, etc.  There are better things in life that I want to keep my focus on.  Keeping the stress out of life keeps me young and happy!!  Give it a try, I have noticed a huge change in my personality and energy over the past few weeks.

Please say a prayer for these 2 families who are going through HELL right now.  Sorry, there is just no other way to put it!!  Please God, give them the strength and guidance to cope and survive.

  1. Pretty dress - the color is perfect for you! Black high heeled black strappy shoes would look great And yes sometimes you have to adjust the way you look at things. When I get in those "stinking thinking" moments I break out a notebook and start listing everyday 5 things I'm grateful for until it passes.

  6. First of all, love the dress, I'm assuming this is a homecoming outfit?! I can't wait until I get to pick mine! Ahh. As for shoes, what about black patent peep toe pumps or wedges? As a side note, my sister has rockin wedges and if I had to guess she got them at Marshalls or Bakers. :)

  9. I bet that color looks awesome on you! I was in Macy's a couple of weeks ago with my mom (she was looking for shoes) and I saw many, many super sexy shoes there. The prices were reasonable - Macy's always has great sales too.

Have FUN! Homecoming planning has got to be among the greatest activities!

i think the kids would look good in gray/black with that. and i guess gray/black is totally IN this year bc i am seeing it everywhere.
in the 2nd pic there is a striped baby gap dress with purples/browns etc. its a toddler dress but something like that would be really cute i think.
