Lions, Tigers, and Bears.....Oh My

Yes, I know, what a corny blog post title. But The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie!!

Today was a beautiful day and we took advantage of it. (We have rain back in the forecast this week!) After several hurdles, we FINALLY made it out of Whiteman and headed west to Kansas City. Our first stop:

The River Market. David and I found this market last weekend on our anniversary get away weekend. We went on a Sunday and they had a several booths open selling veggies, fruit, knick knacks, and a flea market! We knew that this was the place for us. We brought the kids with us this time and were amazed by how many people were there today and how many vendors! WOW is all I can say!! We bought tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, bananas, mangoes, and peaches.

After our amazing visit to the market, we were off to our next stop:

The Kansas City Zoo. Ok, we would pick the hottest day that we have had in May to go to to the zoo! When we arrived at our destination it was 93. When we left 3 hours later, it was 95! Yeah, it was a scorcher!

This isn't the picture that I thought that I uploaded but it will do. This zoo is beautiful!!

Landon, what do you see?

They always take the cutest pictures together.
Funny story, we barely walked into the zoo when this lady walks up to David and says, here are 4 tickets to the train. We both looked at each other and didn't even have time to tell her thank you before she walked off. Score, free tickets for the train. Joke was on us, the train ride was a whole 2 minutes long! Oh well, no money out of our pockets!

Tyler was so excited to ride the train.

Landon has to check it all out. When the train started, he started saying, Choo Choo!!

My mission in life is to get these two kids to sit by each other and smile for the camera! Once again, mission FAILURE!

Landon LOVED these deer. The first time he stuck his hand at the fence, a deer came up and licked him and he wasn't too sure about it. Then it became a game and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world!! You cannot tell, but he is laughing in this picture!

I LOVE this picture! I really wish I had photo shop so I could have fun with this one!

We were at the zoo for 3 hours and Landon walked about 90% of the time. When we told the kids we were going home, he jumped in his stroller and passed out before we were out the gates!! I have NEVER seen this boy sleep in his stroller!

AAAAAWWW, peace and quiet for a whole 10 minutes. Landon woke up when David and I stopped at Sonic! Seriously, he isn't missing out on a drink or food!

  1. How fun! Isn't the cutest thing in the world when kids are so tired that they can fall asleep in the car with their head bobbing around like it's about to fall off...and not even flinch! Looks like you all had a fun day!
